Salamanca Police

  • Jan. 16, no time provided, Jared C. Jacobs, 30, of Steamburg, was charged with petit larceny. According to police, Jacobs allegedly stole a bicycle from the Salamanca Antique Mall. Jacobs was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
  • Jan. 16, no time provided, Pete Green, 55, of Salamanca, was arrested on an active criminal trespass warrant. Green was arrested following an alleged altercation at Save a Lot in the city. He was processed and to appear in court at a later date.
  • Jan. 18, 9:05 a.m., Daniel Pappan, 35, of Salamanca, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration. Pappan was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
  • Jan. 18, 12:31 p.m., Quinton Powless, 26, of Salamanca, was charged with third-degree tampering with a witness, second-degree menacing, second-degree aggravated harassment and disorderly conduct. Powless was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
  • Jan. 19, 12 a.m., Jay Miller, 32, of Olean, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle and falsifying an inspection sticker. Miller was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
  • Jan. 19, 3 a.m., John D. Newark, 39, of Salamanca, was arrested on a warrant relating to charges of third-degree assault and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief. Newark was held pending arraignment.
  • Jan. 19, 4:45 p.m., Michael P. Hecht, 41, of East Concord, was charged with second-degree forgery, criminal use of a credit card, second-degree identity theft, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, fourth-degree grand larceny, petit larceny, third-degree identity theft and use of a credit card with intent to defraud. The charges stem from an incident reported at Seneca Allegany Casino. Hecht was held pending arraignment.
  • Jan. 20, 12:20 a.m., Khristerpher M. Ellis, 32, of Salamanca, was arrested on an outstanding warrant during a reported traffic stop. He was additionally charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Ellis was held pending arraignment.
  • Jan. 22, 9:13 p.m., Douglas Zolner, 42, of Salamanca, was charged with aggravated family offense, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. The charges stem from a reported domestic incident. Zolner was held pending arraignment.
