SALAMANCA — Lorin M. Brooks, 67, of Salamanca, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at home, following a long illness.

Born Aug. 14, 1958, in Jamestown, he was the son of the late Chester and Eileen Henhawk Brooks.

He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and of the Bear Clan.

Lorin was a graduate of Eisenhower High School, Russell, Pa., Class of 1976.

He had been employed with Cummins Diesel in Jamestown for over 20 years and had been employed with various other companies in the Warren, Pa., and Jamestown areas, including Hoffner Excavating, The Warren Motel and North American Phillips Lighting.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, doing puzzles and was an avid NASCAR and Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Surviving are two sons, Dakota Brooks and Dylan Brooks, both of Corning; two sisters, Trudy Kenderdine of Tampa, Fla., and Patsy Brooks of Eustis, Fla.; a brother, William Brooks of Stevensville, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Janice Redick.

There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
