Household hazardous waste collection Oct. 4 in Little Valley
LITTLE VALLEY — The Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works will be holding a free household hazardous waste disposal day on Oct. 4 at the DPW building, 8810 Route 242 in Little Valley.
Prior registration is required to participate. You can register at www.cattco .org/hhw2025 or call (716) 936-9121 or (800) 248-7719, ex. 2418. Registration deadline is Oct. 1. For disposal of oil-based and latex paint products, find the nearest paint collection site at paintcare.org.
The following items can be taken to the hazardous waste collection site:
- Home: oven cleaners, polishes, drain openers, spot removal, degreasers, household cleaners, mercury thermometers, disinfectants, flea products and nail polish remover.
- Garage: fluorescent bulbs, paint thinner, brake fluid, antifreeze, gasoline, carburetor cleaner, adhesives, varnish strippers, car wax and solvents.
- Miscellaneous: insecticides, roofing tar, driveway sealer, rodent poisons, weed killers, wood preservatives, pool chemicals, mothballs, septic tank cleaners, lawn chemicals.
Keep your home safe — dispose of hazardous waste properly. The Cattaraugus County HHW collection program is partially financed with grants from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
