The Cattaraugus County Youth Bureau is pleased to announce that this week’s featured Youth Citizenship Award recipient is Hunter Osgood.
He is the son of Brandy and Chad Osgood and is a senior at Ten Broeck Academy at Franklinville Central School.
Osgood was nominated by the Youth Court Coordinator, who describes him as a reliable volunteer who is always willing to help others. He goes above and beyond to help those around him.
After graduation, Osgood plans to design and create video games and gain employment with a large video game franchise.
Osgood has earned many hours of community service, volunteering his time as a member of the Cattaraugus County Youth Court since 2019, participating in over 75 hearings, where he has participated in varying roles.
In school, Osgood participates in Vex Robotics, which uses science and engineering principles to encourage creativity, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving.
Over the past few years, Osgood has been a member of National Honor Society, placed on high honor for the entity of his high school career and ranked 3rd in his class with a 102.99 grade point average.
He has received several awards, including Award of Recognition from Syracuse University, the Computing Award from Rochester Institute of Technology, the Xerox Award for Innovation and Technology and the Rensselaer Medal Award for outstanding academic achievement in math and science.
Osgood is continuously learning new skills and expanding his knowledge in video gaming and coding, reaching closer to his goals.
Nominations for the 2024 graduating class are closed. If you know an outstanding member of the community who is graduating in 2025, you can nominate them for a Cattaraugus County Youth Citizenship Award beginning in September.
