SALAMANCA — Aaron George registered 22 points, six assists and four rebounds and Jarod White had a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds to power Salamanca to a 70-42 victory over Portville on Friday.

Jarrett McKenna contributed 13 points in the CCAA East I boys basketball game, six assists and six rebounds for the Warriors (7-3, 1-1), who bounced back from Tuesday’s hard-fought loss to Randolph with its first league win of the year.

After surrendering 14 points over the first four minutes, Salamanca limited Portville to just four more points for the rest of the half while taking control with a 30-18 lead at halftime.

“Credit to (PCS coach) Bill Torrey,” Warriors coach Adam Bennett said. “He’s a great coach and they play really hard, but yeah, our defense was outstanding after the first four minutes. I’m happy with the way we moved the ball, and we got some easy ones.”

Dalton Tobola had a team-best 17 points for the Panthers (4-4, 0-2).
