Ellicottville Historical Society presentation is Aug. 6
ELLICOTTVILLE — The Ellicottville Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the Ellicottville Memorial Library, 6499 Maples Road.
The guest speaker will be Don Dwyer presenting “Songs and Stories of the Erie Canal,” a favorite who has performed at previous meetings. The presentation is free and open to the public. A short business meeting will take place at the start.
The next historical walking tour of Ellicottville is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. Meet at the village gazebo. See the houses of the forefathers who helped make Ellicottville what it is today. There are a few new houses added to the tour. The cost is $10 per person, cash or check. The tour takes about 90 minutes. For more information, contact Ellen Frank at (716) 474-8528.
The Ellicottville History Museum is open every Saturday and Sunday from 1–4 p.m. There are great volunteers who would like to show you around.
