Terry Bradshaw takes stage Saturday at Seneca Allegany Event Center
SALAMANCA — Get ready for a hilarious good time with legendary quarterback Terry Bradshaw when he takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday to perform “The Terry Bradshaw Show” at the Seneca Allegany Event Center.
The 70-minute show features Bradshaw’s signature charm and humor as he shares candid moments from his life, his humble Louisiana beginnings and Hall of Fame NFL career to his success in television, film and beyond. The performance will include toe-tapping country tunes and his unforgettable anecdotes.
The beloved NFL superstar, sports commentator and all-around entertainer will interact with his audience in a one-of-a-kind live production that blends comedy, music and personal storytelling.
“That’s what it’s all about, really. I’ll look out at the audience and see someone with a huge smile on their face. Sometimes we have a chat, or I’ll answer questions,” Bradshaw told the Press in a recent interview. “Everyone’s got a story, and I love hearing theirs just as much as I love telling mine.”
The four-time Super Bowl champion quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers is also a two-time Super Bowl MVP, an NFL Hall of Famer, a Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductee and a multi-Emmy award-winning broadcaster on “FOX NFL Sunday.”
Adding to Bradshaw’s credits, he’s also a popular actor, New York Times best-selling author, gospel/country singer, a motivational speaker, the first NFL player to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the star of his own stage production, “The Terry Bradshaw Show.”
Bradshaw said he launched the show over 10 years ago on the Las Vegas Strip, after a producer pitched the idea to him after seeing him speak.
“I’d never thought of it, but the idea immediately caught my attention. My life has had a lot of turns, from growing up in Louisiana to the NFL, over 40 years as an NFL commentator, starring in movies and even putting out my own albums,” he said. “This show brings it all together, plus I’ve got a great band led by Smokin’ Joe Escriba. Every night is a little different, and I just have a great time doing it. It’s made it possible for me to connect and meet with fans all over the country.”
Bradshaw has appeared in several major feature films, including “Failure to Launch,” starring Matthew McConaughey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Bates. He also lent his unique voice to the animated film, “Robots.” His television credits include guest-starring roles on “The Masked Singer,” “Better Late Than Never,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “8 Simple Rules,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” “Evening Shade,” “Modern Family,” and “Married… with Children.” He also hosted his own talk show, “The Home Team with Terry Bradshaw.”
“I really enjoy doing television, movies and even voice acting. One of my favorites was ‘Better Late Than Never’ with Henry Winkler, William Shatner and George Foreman. It was a blast,” he recalled.
Bradshaw’s highly decorated playing career in the NFL led to his career as a sports commentator. He started out with CBS and has been with Fox for 30 years.
“I’m out there every week with a great group of guys and I’ve been with Fox NFL Sunday from the start with Howie and Jimmy, who also happen to be some of my closest friends,” he said. “We’re out there doing what we love, watching and talking about football. I’m blessed, that’s for sure.”
When Bradshaw was young, being an actor or TV personality never crossed his mind. Football was his only love and the only thing he dreamed of doing.
“It was so special to me that even when I got my first football, I cherished it. That was my dream, and I got to live my dream,” he said. “Faith and gospel music were also big parts of my life, and I have always enjoyed singing.”
A native of Shreveport, La., Bradshaw spends his time at home in Texas with his wife, Tammy, and has three daughters, Rachel, Erin and Lacey, as well as four grandchildren, Zurie, Jeb, Jessie and Cason.
“We live pretty close to our kids and grandkids, and we see them quite a bit,” he said. “We’re getting ready to release our ‘Bradshaw Family Cookbook’ in September. We really enjoy cooking together, especially grilling, so we’re all really excited about it.”
Bradshaw is a people person, and he loves entertaining, especially making the audience laugh.
“I’ve always enjoyed being in front of a crowd, whether it was in a huddle, on live TV or in front of a theater audience,” he said. “What makes ‘The Terry Bradshaw Show’ so rewarding is that I get to see the audience’s reactions in real time. It’s like sharing stories with a bunch of friends in a big living room.”
