Leon Town Picnic slated for Aug. 16
LEON — The Leon Town Picnic will be held Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Leon fire hall starting at noon with food served at 1 o’clock.
The day’s festivities include pickleball, cornhole, horseshoes, wine and cheese basket raffle, 50/50, door prizes, cards, memories of the Pennyroyal Race Track and more. The menu consists of chicken barbecue, hot dogs and pie for dessert. Please bring a dish to pass.
There will be a pie baking contest with prizes. First place to receive $25, $15 for second and $10 for third. Call Pat Bromley at (716) 680-1161 or Donna Snyder at (716) 296-5364 to register between Aug. 1–14.
This event is free for Leon residents past and present, as well as anyone connected to Leon, the Pennyroyal Race Track, the fire company, auxiliary, historical society, Town of Leon and Leon businesses and establishments. Donations are always welcome. All proceeds go to the Leon Town Picnic Fund.
