The Salamanca Kiwanis Club and Prospect Elementary School recognize third-grade student Ivan Dowdy from Matthew Bosworth’s class as May’s Terrific Kid for demonstrating leadership on the school bus. Ivan volunteered to help all the younger kids off the bus and be sure they are safe during drills if the monitor is not able to or unavailable. He even stated that since he is so strong, he would help Miss Jo get safely off, too. This is not the first time Ivan has shown leadership on the bus. He sits with the younger students in both morning and afternoon runs and entertains them while helping them stay safe on the bus. He has gained their trust by being respectful, friendly and thoughtful. Kiwanis is proud that Ivan shows such character and thanks him for being a good role model on the bus!
