SALAMANCA — In its first meeting as a group, the Common Council on Wednesday approved more than 30 appointments and reappointments from the mayor in several commissions and boards to begin the new term.
Dennis Hensel, James Crosby and Luis Castellano were each appointed to the Board of Examining Plumbers for terms beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2024.
Janet L. Koch was appointed to the Salamanca Housing Authority for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1 and ending Dec. 31, 2022.
Barry Smith was appointed to the Cattaraugus County Living Arts Association for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022.
Kylee Johnson was appointed to the Board of Ethics for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022.
John “Jack” Hill was appointed Fair Housing Officer for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022.
Kylee Johnson was reappointed to the Fire Commission as chairperson for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31. Jeffrey Harrison was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Johnson, beginning Jan. 14 and ending Jan. 31, 2023. Additionally, Brad Harrington and Robert Gibble were reappointed to the commission for terms beginning Feb. 1 and ending Jan. 31, 2023.
John “Jack” Hill was reappointed to the Industrial Development Agency and Salamanca Area Development Corp. for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022.
Kylee Johnson was appointed to the Library Board of Trustees as a council liaison with no voting power for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022. Additionally, Nan Miller was reappointed for a five-year term beginning Feb. 1 and ending Jan. 31, 2026.
Barry Smith was appointed to the Planning Commission as a council liaison with no voting power for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022. Additionally, William Porter was reappointed and Tina Becker was appointed to the commission for two-year terms beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022.
John “Jack” Hill was appointed to the Police Commission as chairperson for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022. Additionally, William Canella was reappointed and Robert Kennedy was appointed to three-year terms beginning Feb. 1 and ending Jan. 31, 2024. Kennedy was also appointed to fill the unexpired term of Alfred Seitz, who resigned, beginning Jan. 14 and ending Jan. 31.
Paul Myers was appointed to the Board of Public Utilities as chairperson for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31. Additionally, William Butler and Robert Ellis were appointed to three-year terms beginning Feb. 1 and ending Jan. 31, 2024.
The Common Council members Hill, Johnson, Smith, Myers and Koch and Mayor Sandra Magiera were appointed to the Board of Public Works for terms beginning Jan. 13 and ending Dec. 31, 2022. Koch was appointed chairperson of the commission.
Barry Smith was appointed to the Recreation Commission as chairperson for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022. Additionally, Kylee Johnson was appointed for a term beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31, 2022.
Paul Myers was appointed and Sandra Magiera was reappointed to the Salamanca Youth Board for terms beginning Jan. 14 and ending Dec. 31. Additionally, Michael Lonto was appointed to the board to fill the unexpired term of Brenda Fuller, who resigned, beginning Jan. 14 and ending Feb. 28, 2025.
Charles Chamberlain and Jeffrey Walker were reappointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals to three-year terms beginning Feb. 1 and ending Jan. 31, 2024.
