SALAMANCA — Two missing Salamanca infants were successfully recovered Saturday afternoon in Suffolk County on Long Island, according to Salamanca police.
Melani Ventura, 3 months, and Londyn Richardson, 29 days, were recovered by police at 12:20 p.m. outside of New York City after a nearly six-hour search across the state and beyond, according to officials.
Police said the girls were last seen at 6:30 a.m. on East State Street with their mothers, Selena Ventura and Keshauna Boggs, residents of the Zafron Home for Pregnant and Parenting Teens.
A search was issued for a 2007 blue Honda CRV, license number HDL6588, in which police believed they were traveling. An NYC license plate reader picked up the vehicle, officials said.
According to Salamanca police, the mothers will be retained in Nassau County and their case will be processed from there.
