The Salamanca Kiwanis Club recently donated backpacks filled with supplies for children removed from their homes to Child Protective Services. There are approximately 90 to 100 kids in foster care and a need for more foster parents and respite care workers. Donations of clothing are accepted at Foster Cattaraugus, a nonprofit clothing closet. In the coming months, the Kiwanis Club will hold a scholarship awards brunch ceremony for area high school seniors in May and the bike rodeo and health fair on June 6 at the Salamanca High School.
