SALAMANCA — Athlene Krysick Vesotski, 98, of Salamanca, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, 2026, at the Absolut Care of Salamanca, with her husband by her side, following six years at Tanglewood Manor, Jamestown.

Born Dec. 21, 1927, in Olean, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Abbott Witherell. She was married to Charles Krysick, who predeceased her in 2005. She was later married to Francis Vesotski, who survives.

Athlene had been employed as the department manager of the B. Altman Department Store in Willow Grove, Pa., prior to her retirement. Previously, she had been employed at John Wanamaker Department Store.

In her early years, she ran her own hairdresser business out of her home, called The Handy Curl Shoppe, in Olean and Salamanca.

She was a member of the former Holy Cross Church, Our Lady of Peace Parish, Newman Reading Circle and Quadays.

Surviving besides her husband are four children, Thomas (Wanda) Krysick of Quakertown, Pa., Patricia (Dave) Christy of Lansdale, Pa., Karen (Bob) Habick of Huron, Ohio and Charles (Adrienne) Krysick of Lansdale; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial Mass will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad St., Salamanca, in the springtime and will be announced. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
