SALAMANCA — Curtis E. Watt, 75, of Salamanca, died peacefully Sunday morning (Jan. 18, 2026) at his home.

Born Nov. 25, 1950, in Salamanca, he was the son of the late Elwin Watt and Corinne Dowdy and was raised by his uncle and aunt, Paul and Mamie Jones. He was married Nov. 7, 1981, in Salamanca, to the former Sallie Kaulaity, who survives.

He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Turtle Clan.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1970, where he played varsity track and football. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany.

Curtis had worked several construction jobs throughout the area.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren’s various sporting events. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and liked to watch all different sports and play horseshoes.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Vanessa (Parker Booth Sr.) Kaulaity of Onondaga Nation; a son, Adam “AC” (Tami) Watt of Jimersontown; five granddaughters, Marissa Booth and Maeva Booth, both of Onondaga Nation, and Harper Watt, Hattie Watt and Heron Watt, all of Jimersontown; three grandsons, Parker Booth Jr. and Curtis Booth, both of Onondaga Nation, and Hiram Watt of Jimersontown; two sisters, Maureen Redeye and Cathy (Kim) Henning-Redeye, both of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Amy Harrison, Judy Cooper and Marilyn Cooper, and two brothers, Timothy Jones and Richard Cooper.

Friends began calling Tuesday (Jan. 20, 2026) at the family home, 3522 Center Road, Salamanca, and continued all day Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2026).

Funeral services will be held in the family home at 10 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 22, 2026) followed by services in the Coldspring Longhouse with speakers from the Coldspring Longhouse officiating.

Burial will be held at Hillside Haven Cemetery in Steamburg.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
