Allegany State Park to celebrate 20 years of National Public Lands Day
RED HOUSE — Join Allegany State Park in celebrating National Public Lands Day this fall with 20 years of participation.
National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest one-day event designed to give people the opportunity to give back to the public lands they love by volunteering for a few hours on a variety of service projects that enhance both the park and the visitor experience.
This year’s event takes place Saturday, Sept. 27, on the Red House side of the park. The are numerous volunteer projects in the works with something for everyone to participate.
The day will start with check-in/registration from 9–9:30 a.m. at the Beehunter Picnic Shelter. Service projects will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a picnic lunch at the Beehunter picnic area at 1 p.m. Participants are asked to come dressed for the weather and expect to get dirty. This event will be held rain or shine.
Attendees can pre-register by Sept. 19 on eventbrite.com by searching “Allegany State Park” and choosing the “2025 National Public Lands Day” event. Those without computer access can call (716) 379-4597 to register.
