Victims of Perrysburg shooting identified
PERRYSBURG — The New York State Police have identified the victims in a shooting incident that left two people dead and another injured.
At approximately 11:27 p.m. Aug. 4, troopers out responded to the area of Whites Drive for a report of a shooting on the Cattaraugus Indian Territory.
Investigation determined that Tylin O. Thomas Jr., 18 of Perrysburg, was standing on Whites Drive outside a 2012 Buick Verano occupied by Ryan A. Mohawk, 23, and Caleb H. Stafford, 23, both of Perrysburg. Thomas reportedly fired into the Buick with an AK-47-style weapon and fatally struck Mohawk and injured Stafford. Thomas then reportedly took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Stafford drove the Buick to a nearby residence to contact law enforcement.
The investigation reveals that the individuals involved had argued earlier in the day and all allegedly had a level of intoxication when the incident occurred.
Autopsies were conducted at Olean General Hospital, where Mohawk’s death was ruled a homicide and Thomas’s was ruled a suicide.
The New York State Police Forensic Identification Unit, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Seneca Nation Marshal’s Office, Gowanda Police Department and the Cattaraugus County District Attorney’s Office are assisting in this incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
Salamanca Police
- Aug. 3, 10:34 p.m., Cody J. Jimerson, 19, of Salamanca, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance, an infraction. Jimerson was released with an appearance ticket.
- Aug. 4, 8:48 a.m., Brenda L. Anderson, 50, of Salamanca, was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony; petty larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, class A misdemeanors. Anderson was held pending arraignment.
- Aug. 6, 8:57 a.m., Charles N. Frank, 26, of Salamanca, was charged with misapplication of property, a class A misdemeanor. Frank was held pending arraignment.
- Aug. 6, 2:33 p.m., Pierce L. Abrams, 34, of Salamanca, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor; unlicensed operator and speeding, infractions. Abrams was held pending arraignment.
- Aug. 6, 5:39 p.m., Corey A. Parkhurst, 35, of Salamanca, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while registration is suspended/revoked, unclassified misdemeanors; uninspected motor vehicle and improper plates, infractions. Parkhurst was released with an appearance ticket.
- Aug. 8, 4:40 p.m., Steven K. Nash Jr., 33, of Salamanca, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while registration is suspended/revoked, an unclassified misdemeanor, and uninspected motor vehicle, an infraction. Nash was released with an appearance ticket.
- Aug. 9, 12:04 a.m., Jeffrey H. Letson, 47, of Salamanca, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and trespass, a violation. Letson was released with an appearance ticket.
- Aug. 9, 6:30 p.m., Destiny Lathrop, 23, of Randolph, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor. Lathrop was released with an appearance ticket.
- Aug. 9, 8:33 p.m., Tyla Newark, 20, of Salamanca, was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony; third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, class A misdemeanors. Newark was held pending arraignment.
Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office
- LITTLE VALLEY — Primo L. Luciano, 50, of Little Valley, was charged at 5:55 p.m. July 28 with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, unclassified misdemeanors. Luciano was released with an appearance ticket.
- CATTARAUGUS — Christopher F. DeMartino, 61, of Cattaraugus, was charged at 9:36 p.m. Aug. 2 with attempted second-degree assault, a class E felony, and second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor. The charges stem from a reported domestic incident during which Demartino allegedly struck a victim with a baseball bat. He was released with an appearance ticket.
- LITTLE VALLEY — Alexander P. Bryant, 24, of Otto, was charged at 12:57 p.m. Aug. 2 with second-degree aggravated harassment, a class A misdemeanor. Bryant was released on his own recognizance.
- LITTLE VALLEY — Joshua J. Ball, 27, of Ashford, was charged at 8:09 p.m. Aug. 10 with fifth-degree conspiracy, a class A misdemeanor. The charge stems from the investigation of a reported in-progress burglary. Ball was released with an appearance ticket.
- LITTLE VALLEY — Aaliyah B. Small, 22, of Otto, was charged at 8:09 p.m. Aug. 10 with third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and attempted petit larceny, a class B misdemeanor. The charges stem from the investigation of a reported in-progress burglary. Small was released with an appearance ticket.
New York State Police
- PERRYSBURG — John Jason Buthy, 45, of Gowanda, was charged at 9:31 p.m. Aug. 4 with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08% or greater, unclassified misdemeanors; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor. Buthy was released with an appearance ticket.
- ELLICOTTVILLE — Chad K. Wilkins, 39, of Ellicottville, was charged at 5:40 p.m. Aug. 5 with third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor. Wilkins was released on his own recognizance.
- ASHFORD — Christian Mathew Burdic, 26, of West Valley, was charged at 11:31 a.m. Aug. 6 with third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor. Burdic was held pending arraignment.
- LEON — Todd Dellahoy, 27, of North Collins, was charged at 2:28 p.m. Aug. 6 with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. The charge stems from an incident reported June 21. Dellahoy’s status was not reported.
- PERSIA — Randy A. Taylor, 39, of Great Valley, was charged at 8:36 p.m. Aug. 10 with driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, class E felonies. Taylor was turned over to another agency.
