- Aug. 16 – Friends of ASP’s Fire Tower Saturdays at Allegany State Park. Meet at Summit Ski Hut parking lot. Quarter-mile hike up to the tower and climb to the top for breathtaking views. Visit friendsofallegany.com. Free. 11 a.m.
- Aug. 16 – Deep Forest Nature Hike at Griffis Sculpture Park, East Otto. 11 a.m.
- Aug. 16 – Leon Town Picnic at Leon Fire Hall. Lawn games, raffles, memories of the Pennyroyal Race Track and more. Lunch of chicken BBQ and hot dogs at 1 p.m. Bring a dish to pass. Pie baking contest with entries for dessert. Proceeds benefit town picnic fund. Noon.
- Aug. 16 – Magic Show at Salamanca Public Library, 155 Wildwood Ave. Free. 1 p.m.
- Aug. 16 – Bradley’s Car Show at Cattaraugus Fireman’s Club, 24 Memorial Drive. Live music, food and beverages, kids activities, vendor market and more. Best of Show prize and trophies for winners. Presented by Bradley’s Auto Detailing. Call (716) 801-5118. 1–9 p.m.
- Aug. 16 – Sunset Movie Saturdays at Jefferson Street Park, Salamanca. Hosted by Seneca Salamanca Chamber of Commerce. Showing of “Inside Out 2.” Free. 8:30 p.m.
- Aug. 17 – Friends of ASP Red House Sawmill Sundays at the sawmill. Knowledgeable tour guides will be on hand to share expertise and answer questions. 10 a.m. to noon.
- Aug. 17 – Summer Festival at Griffis Sculpture Park, East Otto. A day of music, creativity, nature, exploration and more. Vendor village, kids craft area, food and beverages and more. Tickets $25 for adults, children 12 and under free. Visit griffissculpturepark.org. Noon–6 p.m.
- Aug. 21 – Ellicottville Gazebo Series in front of town hall in the village. Lawn chairs, picnic baskets, coolers and even the family pet is welcome. Performance by Rabbit Jaw. Free. 7–9 p.m.
- Aug. 22–24 – Enchanted Mountains Horse Series at Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds, Little Valley. An exciting game show on Friday nights, and performance classes on both Saturday and Sunday. Treats are available at the concession stand.
- Aug. 23 – Sunset Movie Saturdays at Jefferson Street Park, Salamanca. Hosted by Seneca Salamanca Chamber of Commerce. Showing of “Lilo & Stitch” live-action remake. Free. 8:30 p.m.
