Open Class Goat Show results announced at Cattaraugus Co. Fair
LITTLE VALLEY — On Monday, youth exhibitors showed off their goat projects at the Cattaraugus County Fair. The open class contest is an opportunity for youth across the county and in neighboring communities to be rewarded for the months of hard work caring for and training their animals.
ALPINE
In the Senior Showman division, Nathan Andera of Allegany placed first and second in the Senior Showmanship. For the Junior Yearling division, Carley Bergeron of Great Valley received first place, and Brianna Bergeron, also of Great Valley, placed second.
For the Senior Doe Under 2 Years division, Andera placed first and second with Hunter Bova, of Cherry Creek, placing third. In the Senior Doe 2-3 Years division, Andera received first and second places followed by Brianna Bergeron in third and Carley Bergeron placing fourth. For the Senior Doe 3-4 Years division, Carley Bergeron placed first. For the Senior Doe 4-5 Years division, Andera placed first and second, and Brianna Bergeron finished third. In the Senior Doe Five-Plus Years division, Brianna Bergeron placed first with Carley Bergeron finishing second.
In the Get of Sire division, Carley Bergeron placed first and Nathan Andera took second. For the Produce of Dam division, Andera took first with Brianna Bergeron placing second. In the Dam/Daughter division, Andera took first. For the Best Bred by Exhibitor and Dairy Herd division, Andera placed first, Brianna Bergeron was second and Carley Bergeron took third. For the Best Udder division, Andera finished first, Brianna Bergeron took second, Carley Bergeron placed third and Hunter Bova was fourth.
MEAT GOAT
In the Senior Kid division, Easton Pence of Randolph placed first, the Randolph FFA took second and third, Victoria Dickinson of Cattaraugus placed fourth and Renley Stoll, also of Cattaraugus, was fifth. For the Senior Yearling division, Dickinson took first while Rosalyn Colabro of Cattaraugus placed second.
In the Senior Doe Under 2 Years division, Victoria Dickison placed first. For the Senior Doe 3-4 Years division, Tianna Bova of Cherry Creek took first. In the Best Bred Division, Pence placed first.
For the Market Goat Not in Sale division, Khloe Duffy of Frewsburg finished first, the Randolph FFA took second, third and fifth places, Easton Pence placed fourth, Sawyer Chapman of Randolph was sixth, Gabrielle Chapman of Randolph took seventh and Emily Chapman of Randolph finished eighth.
LAMANCHA
In the Senior Doe 2-3 Years division, Kaleb Durow of Randolph placed first.
NUBIANS
In the Junior Yearling division, Jamie Godown of East Concord took first, Gordon Porter of East Concord placed second and Elsie Porter of East Concord finished third. For the Senior Yearling division, Owen Dechow of Julian, Pa. received first place, Bridget Dechow of Julian was second and Owen Dechow of Julian took third.
SAANAN
In the Senior Yearlings division, Austin Durow placed first and Hunter Bova took second. For the Senior Doe 2 Years division, Bova finished first.
RECORDED GRADE
In the Senior Yearling division, Tianna Bova placed first. For the Senior Doe 2-3 Years division, Amelia Fuller of West Valley was first and Savannah Fuller, also of West Valley, took second.
In the Senior Does 5-Plus Years division, Juleah Britton of Lawtons placed first and Peyton Britton, also of Lawtons, finished second. For the Best Udder division, Juleah Britton placed first, Beyton Britton was second, Savannah Fuller took third and Amelia Fuller was fourth.
NIGERIAN DWARF
In the Junior Kid division, first, second and third when to Juleah Britton and Peyton Britton took fourth. For the Junior Yearling division, Kaleb Britton of Lawtons placed first.
OTHER BREED
In the Junior Yearling division, Zailynne O’Neill of Randolph took first. O’Neill was also first in the Senior Doe 2-3 Years division. Nathan Andera received Best Doe in Show, and Jamie Godown took Best Udder in Show.
