Salamanca got off to a good start when Morgan Earley and Karren Furlong each drew walks to put two runners on with no outs. The next three batters failed to get on base, but passed balls helped the runners score to make it 2-1 after the first.
Things got worse after that, Fillmore would tie the game in the second inning and Salamanca got completely shut down with six straight batters getting struck out in the second and third innings. Meanwhile, Fillmore would take a 4-2 lead.
Salamanca would score a run in the fourth inning when Annsley Caput drew a leadoff walk and Olivia Martens brought her in with a single. Fillmore would dominate the rest of the way as they advanced to the championship against Ellicottville-Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
