St. Bonaventure announces Brendan Storrier as men’s lacrosse head coach

ST. BONAVENTURE — Brendan Storrier has been announced as the new head coach for the St. Bonaventure men’s lacrosse team.

Storrier arrives in Western New York after building a powerhouse at Limestone University in South Carolina. While leading the Saints, Storrier’s teams posted an impressive 66-13 record and four straight NCAA Division II Tournament appearances in the last four years.

“We believe we found the perfect fit to lead St. Bonaventure’s men’s lacrosse program into this new era,” Beretta said. “Throughout his career, Brendan has earned a reputation as a tireless worker, a selfless leader, and a championship-level coach. He has a proven track record of success, leading his Limestone teams to excellence on and off the playing field. His teams play with a great deal of toughness and tenacity, traits we aspire to instill in our Bonnie student-athletes.

“We welcome Brendan, his wife, Hollie, and children, Harper, Beckett and Hadley, to the Bona Athletics family. We look forward to achieving new heights for our program on the field, in the classroom and in the community in the years ahead.”

Storrier’s team ranked as part of the top-five in the national polls throughout this past season, recording a 16-3 overall record and its second consecutive undefeated regular season mark in South Atlantic Conference (SAC) play.

For the fourth straight year, Limestone won an NCAA Tournament game, reaching the national quarterfinals before falling in an overtime heartbreaker vs. Maryville. Eight Saints student-athletes achieved USILA All-American status following the campaign.

“I would like to thank Mr. Beretta, Ryan Clingan, Steve Mest, and the rest of the hiring committee for giving me the opportunity to help lead the St. Bonaventure men’s lacrosse program,” Storrier said. “Being the head coach for the Bonnies is an unbelievable opportunity for my family and I. We are excited to get to campus meet the players, their families, and all of the St. Bonaventure community. I look forward to working with the faculty and staff on mentoring these young men and continuing to build a culture of excellence.”

While at Limestone, Storrier’s teams won at least 16 games every year. In 2022, the Saints finished 17-3 and reached the NCAA D-II semifinals before falling to top-ranked Tampa. The following year, Limestone went 16-5, won the SAC Tournament championship and again reached the national semifinals. In 2024, Limestone soared to a 17-2 mark, including a 9-0 record in conference action, and a trip to the national semifinals before battling top-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne to the wire. In that time, Limestone put together a sparkling 34-4 record in conference games – 19-0 in the past two years.

For his efforts, Storrier was recognized as SAC Coach of the Year in 2022, 2024 and 2025.

Storrier directed an electric offense at Limestone as the Saints finished third nationally in scoring this past year with nearly 18 goals per game. In 2024, Limestone led the country in offense with 18.3 goals per contest.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Storrier’s first head coaching position came at Mars Hill where he led that program from 2019-21.

Following his time as a student-athlete at Limestone, he joined the coaching ranks with the Saints as an assistant where he served on staff from 2010-18 and was honored as a two-time national Assistant Coach of the Year. During that time, the Saints registered three Division II national championships (2014, 2015, 2017), 59 USILA All-Americans, 125 All-Conference selections and six scholar All-Americans. He was Limestone’s recruiting coordinator starting in 2011 before taking the offensive coordinator role in 2014.

As the offensive architect during Limestone’s dominating run over his eight-year stretch as an assistant, the Saints continually stood among the nation’s top offenses, leading the country in scoring three straight years from 2015-17. During the 2016 campaign, Limestone led all three NCAA divisions in total points.

As a student-athlete in two seasons at Limestone, he logged 78 goals after a prolific two years at the junior college level where he was an All-American at Onondaga Community College. His play there ultimately led to his induction into the NJCAA men’s lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2017.
