OLEAN — Several members of the Cattaraugus County Republican Women’s (CCRW) group donated dozens of items for foster children in need within the county on Wednesday.
Many of the items included were baby gates, bottles, wipes, sleep sacks, card and board games, gift cards, earbuds, clothing and much more.
The CCRW group was established in 2022, a chapter affiliate of the New York State Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women. One of the many objectives of CCRW is to promote the principles of the Republican Party with a strong focus on community service activities.
In 2023, CCRW donated cookies to multiple nursing homes in the county on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. In November 2023, CCRW also donated many items to the Cattaraugus County Veteran’s Service Agency.
CCRW President Ashley Smith, who also serves as the county attorney, encourages any Cattaraugus County woman interested in Republican fellowship to join the club.
“The club’s membership is open to any woman who believes in the philosophy of the Republican Party and supports the objectives and policies of the organization, which include community service to our citizens of the county,” she added.
Women interested in joining CCRW should contact the organization at (716) 353-2942 or cattcorepublicanwomen@outlook.com.
