LITTLE VALLEY — A West Seneca man pleaded not guilty to an indictment that charges him with first-degree reckless endangerment involving a police officer in Cattaraugus County Court.
Anthony Choate, 33, entered the plea at his arraignment Jan. 29 before Cattaraugus County Court Judge Ronald D. Ploetz.
The indictment also charges Choate with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree grand larceny, resisting arrest, unlawful fleeing from a police officer, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving.
District Attorney Lori Pettit Rieman said the incident occurred on Aug. 4 in the town of Ellicottville, when the defendant allegedly possessed stolen property and recklessly engaged in conduct that created a grave risk of death to another person, and intentionally prevented or attempted to prevent a police officer from effecting an authorized arrest.
The case was adjourned for motions.
In another case, Corry Wymer, 41, of Olean, pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging him with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Rieman said the incident occurred on Aug. 18 in the city of Olean, when the defendant allegedly possessed one or more preparations, compounds, mixtures, or substances containing methamphetamine, with intent to sell it. The case was adjourned for motions.
An Olean woman pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging her with second-degree burglary and petit larceny.
Tonya Hadsell, 31, of Olean, entered the plea before Ploetz.
Rieman said the incident occurred on June 30 in the town of Hinsdale, when the defendant allegedly entered or remained unlawfully in a building, with intent to commit a crime therein, and stole property. The case was adjourned for motions.
