SCOTTVILLE — Caroline G. Carbone, 99, of Scottsville, formerly of Salamanca, died Monday morning (Oct. 13, 2025) at the Avon Nursing Home, Avon.

Born Feb. 22, 1926, in Quaker Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Pacifico and Maria Compagnucci Pedacchio. She was married Oct. 11, 1947, to Antonio “Tony” Carbone, who predeceased her in 2008.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1944.

Caroline had been self-employed as a hairstylist, working out of her home on Bliss Street for over 60 years.

She was a member of the former St. Patrick’s RC Church and enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing bridge and doing crafts of all kinds.

Surviving are a son, Thomas Carbone of Mooresville, N.C.; two daughters, Judy Martin of Scottsville and Jayne Carbone of Asheville, N.C.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Alfred Pedacchio.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St, Salamanca.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Salamanca Public Library, 155 Wildwood Ave., Salamanca, NY 14779.
